In January of this year I was practicing a whole lot and then all of the sudden, the ache that was in my left hand occasionally got a lot worse. It hurt to pick up my water bottle, and it hurt a whole lot to play. So I backed off for about a month and didn't play at all except performing. I haven't been playing much in the past few months.
I go to the doctor's in a few weeks for a test for carpal tunnel. When I went for an appointment a few weeks ago he looked at my hands/wrists for about 15 seconds and said "Yeah, looks like it might be carpal tunnel, we'll set up a test."
I guess I'll see what happens.

My Ovation was the first guitar I owned. It's been sitting in its case for years now, barely touched. Yesterday I hooked it up to an effects processor I've had around for a long time (bought it to slow down licks - before Windows Media Player did it, I guess) and had a lot of fun with it the other day. There are all kinds of amps and effects in that machine (Digitech GNX1). Not bluegrass, but fun stuff anyway :)

Howdy Bonnie.. Sorry to hear about your pain.. I have been experiencing a similar problem so I can definitely relate. Best of luck with getting that problem fixed.
Pick on!

How's the pain in the hands? This morning I wrapped Salonpas around a few fingers. It helped a lot. Yet I played for a few hours, guitar and mandolin, instruments which I haven't played in a while. (Usually I'm practicing fiddle.) Anyways, the Salonpas seems to help me.

Please let us know how you're doing. I'm learning a lot from your videos and appreciate all the time and work you've put into doing them.

Hey Bonnie, I don't know if you still come around here or not, but I'd be interested in hearing what the outcome of this was. I've been feeling the odd twinge in my left hand and it's starting to get me a little worried.
