I am attempting to build my first cigar box stick dulcimer. I am confuse about the scale length and fret location. I purchased a dulcimer to use as a guide. My dulcimer has a narrow strum area but stick dulcimers I see on the internet have the frets quite a distance from the bridge. Is it just that the stick dulcimers have left off some frets?
