Another oldie most likely from the middle Tennessee area, where it was recorded in the 1920's. Lester Beck was an excellent fiddler, friend of the family, and pretty good with the old long bow, so I lifted this one straight from him, including this third part that I've never heard another fiddler play. At one time, everybody played this one so much, it became cliche. I think its time to renew it. I really like the rag progression from C to A to D to G back to C on the fine part. 1991 Martin D16H both backup and lead.

Very nicely played! It's a good tune and you did it justice. Maybe this is also called Stones Rag? seems like I might have heard it by New Lost City Ramblers years ago. Anyway, great stuff!

Very fine picking! ANd a good inspiration. It so happens that right now I am practicing this piece from a transcription of a Doc Watson recording. I hope to learn it. It's titled Stone's Rag as Laurence suggests.

I have played this for almost a year now, on and off. I think I will try to adopt the third part from you, if you don't mind. It a good variation.
I have rated this 5 stars a year ago, so I don't know if I can rate again. i would if I could.
