This local version I got from Dad is very close to Arthur Smith's 1930's original recording with the Delmores backing him up - Note the second B part is in E MAJOR, not E minor as later adapted, and there is no B7 in the B part either. Apologies for the flubs, this was done quickly. Also, Arthur Smith considered this a traditional tune, although his arrangement differed from all the other fiddlers at that time. 1991 D16H on lead, 1934 000-18 on backup - jbh

Nice job there Jim. As weird at the B7 must sound to you, this was different for me. I've never heard that version before. I love the major on the chorus.

That's nice, and different. A bit unusual to hear it with the major chords, but definitely interesting.
I'll stick to the minors thought. It's hard to learn old dogs new tricks :-)
It's like Blackberry Blossom is a must for flatpickers. Maybe I'll try to do a recording one of these days. With minors and B7 :-)
5 stars. Also on the other tune you have here.

What's interesting to me is that this version, because you so often hear it the other way, sounds experimental and progression with the major chords. That's a twist. Incredible picking! Thanks for sharing.

That is what I like to hear, Solid performance with a (major) twist. This tune really sounds good with the key center in the major column. My work involes travel and I realized tunes can carry an Area accent , that has survived Radio and T.V. The more interesting the history of a tune the more I enjoy the effort to try to play it well..... Good upload, more please

Yep! It's so hard to beat this tune nicely picked on a guitar, and I do enjoy the major chords in this version too. Thanks Jim
