I started with the guitar in 96 or so, and learned some chords and a little flatpicking, not good at anything, but moving foward slowly. I wanted to try the banjo, and so I tried that for about 4 years and I was progressing very well, but then my thumb developed a mind of its own and it would just start pointing straight down and I wouldn't be able to correct it. Tried everything but nothing was a fix. Came back to the guitar in spring 2011 and I am really going to try hard this time to learn to play decently. Of course I am 60 years old and so I know that it will be almost impossible to be good. But its fun to learn whatever I can. rf
