More About Me

Studied at Bruce Clarke's Guitar Workshop in the 1970s for 5 years and in 1981 came across the music of Norman Blake and studied various flat picking styles. Also became involved in the traditional Irish music scene in Melbourne. Won the 1986 Tim Whelan Tune Writing Award for my composition "The Town Of Uranquinty", and in 1987 placed 2nd to Andrew Clermont in the National Flatpicking Championships.
I've recorded 3 cds of mostly Irish music, a book/CD of old times/bluegrass tunes with the unimaginative but accurate title "Flatpack Tunes For Guitar" and also wrote a 2,100 Chord Dictionary.
Along with Gerry Gaffney I produce podcasts of Irish music for guitar :

And I'm also a member of a bluegrass gospel quartet, "Dancing With The Angels"
