Basic dimensions are very similar, but shape, and bridge location is importantly different.

Looks like that's a coveted "Red Label" Yamaha. How does it sound compared to the Martin? I have a 1982 FG-340 II, and it sounds OK for fingerpicking, but for bluegrass and old time it's utterly devoid of bottom end.

It is a red label. I've got a Martin OM. The OM is louder, deeper, richer, etc. But, the FG150 is not that far off. I'll have to say, these have to be the best non-solid topped guitars I've come across. Many folks just don't believe they have 3 ply tops. The main weakness, is the necks fold, and the tops come up, making them less usable above the 5th fret. Mine is still playable though.

I have an Fg-500 that I got in 1969 in Tokyo- Red Label! It's without a doubt one of my best guitars!
Mine is all solid wood - the top has had a couple of cracks mended. Very playable and it kicks butt! Real banjo buster. Had it in Vietnam and I call it my "Battle Axe!"
Red labels are great instruments and quite collectible!
