Sammy Murphy, 14 years old*, from Summersville, WV, once said that when he was born he had an old soul. Ever since he was little, Sammy loved the sounds of old time bluegrass, Gospel, and country music. At a very young age, he self-taught himself how to play several instruments, including the banjo, guitar, mandolin, and a few others. Giving up was not and is still not an option for Sammy. He never lets anything get him down or stop him from doing what he loves to do. He later started performing at churches, outdoor events, and festivals, and continues this today. His love for old time music has also led Sammy to having his own show called Sammy's Old Time Music. Sammy is very inspirational to everyone that meets him and always encourages others to never give up and to keep on pursuing their dreams.
