I started playing guitar when I was 9 years old. At 15 I took finger-picking guitar lessons from Beppe Gambetta, and at 16 I was exposed to Bluegrass for the first time, very appropriately at a Red Wine concert. I fell in love with this music right away, and started studying flat-picking techniques. In 1991 I was called to replace Beppe, and became Red Wine's guitar player and baritone singer. I left the band in 1993 to form Lost in Bluegrass, and played with them until 1997, when I joined Hocus Pocus, a veteran Italian "New Country" band. With them I stayed for 4 years, playing festivals in Italy and abroad and having a cut in the "Country in this country" compilation CD. In early 2002 I have rejoined Red Wine and with them I've played since the last July. We released the CD "Winter's come and gone" and we had the chance to play in some of the most important Bluegrass Festivals all around U.S. and Europe.
