Has anyone tried a Zagar Guitar or their strings?

While I have not seen one of their instruments, I know that there is considerable controversy surrounding Zager guitars. It is widely believed that their catalog and advertising information is misleading, particularly about where the instruments are manufactured. All I know for sure is that the country of manufacture is not specified anywhere on their website. Supposedly, the instruments are adjusted at Zager's location in Nebraska.

I've visited their website and read their descriptions and marketing claims carefully.  As far as I can tell, their advertising seems to me to be deceptive because of omissions and some rather far-fetched claims about the superiority of the features of their instruments; but it remains within the bounds of being legal.

There is plenty of stuff on the web about all of this. You'll have to make your own conclusions.

I've made mine, and if someone asks me, I prefer to recommend that they buy instruments made by other companies instead.
