I work on crosspicking. I wish there was a crosspicking instructional that -
1. Had exercises for the different crosspicking patterns. Notation and tab.
2. Provided notation and tab for 10 - 12 commonly played tunes. These tunes would NOT include crosspicking techniques.
3. A table would be provided cross referencing each crosspicking technique to specific measures in the tunes.
An instructional like this would enable a guitarist to become fluent using crosspicking techniques,
and acquire a better ability to apply the techniques. Some tunes seem to "beg" for crosspicking.
I "dug" out a fiddle book and started working on "Pig Ankle Rag" for the guitar. One of my first thoughts was that crosspicking could easily create variations for this tune and make it sound even better.
Recordings would be provided for items 1 and 2.
