I recently acquired a Gretsch New Yorker Archtop 6-string guitar Model 8030 - S/N 48724.

I have a Gretsch New Yorker Archtop 4-string tenor guitar Model 6050 - S/N 12901.

There is plenty of information about Model 6050 but I can't find anything about Model 8030 or any possible subsequent Gretsch Archtop New Yorkers

Would appreciate any information you can tell me about 8030

Oops.  Someone told me that Gretsch labels are sometimes blurred and sure enough a close inspection of this label shows that it is a Model 6050 not 8030.  The 6050 New Yorker was being made from at least 1949 (maybe 1948) up to 1970 with somewhat different appearances along the way.

GuitarTom2 - Thanks for your help.  According to the Gretsch Pages link the New Yorker 6050 was extant in 1946 when Gretsch resumed work after the war.  I've seen ads for the Synchromatic in 1946 but not the New Yorker but the New Yorker was out by the time of catalog 50 ('48-'49).
