I got rid of my wood guitar and got an Ovation, which I love. Except for the part where it slips all over the place when I'm sitting down, which is the way I play it. It tips up, and is hard to keep in a comfortable playing position. No, I'm not going to get another guitar, I'm wondering if anyone has found a way to keep these great guitars in their place? And no, I don't have a convex middle meeting the convex Ovation... ;-)
Thanks....

I used the non skid shelf/drawer liner that is available just about everywhere. I had the same problem with my Ovation guitars. Got some of that shelf liner, cut out a piece to fit where I wanted it and stuck it on with double sided tape. Used it on both my six and twelve strings.

Oh, that sounds like a good idea -- I'll have to try that! The guitar comes with a rubberized patch on the body, but it doesn't really help. This sound like it'll actually work.
Thanks Jerry!!!

Thanks Joe, I guess I'll try that next. The shelf liner didn't seem to do much for me.

Just don't wear real nice pants - or shorts. That stuff is rougher than a cob; its like coarse sandpaper.
Edit: just found my sheet of it, on the back side peel-off is printed "3M Safety Walk (tm)". Skateboarders put it on the deck for shoe grip. I think it is for sticking to floors. I see you can get all kinds of anti-slip tape from 3M.

It's easy to find, but I hadn't thought about it chewing up the pants. I either wear jeans or fatigues, but I think they're nice ;-)

I do not play mine very much but when I do I use a shoulder strap, even when sitting.
