The recent passing of one of my all time favourites, Don Parmley from The Bluegrass Cardinals led me to go over a lot of the music I'd picked up from his recordings over the years. One of my favourite songs was the Cardinals recording of "Sunday Morning Singing" which can be found here: youtube.com/watch?v=xB0GoBg2fOI .
There's also a great version by Nick Chandler: youtube.com/watch?v=tBcYkU-wuYM
I'm having trouble picking up the last few words of line 1: I followed momma and daddy down that old country road ?????? and the third line of verse 2 : The service seemed to last ?????????
I'm usually pretty good at translating from American into my native Australian but this one has got me beat! Any help would be appreciated , many thanks .
