Eric,
Good job on starting the flatpicking guitar site.
It's good to see it. I also belong to the banjo hangout
and love them both.

Looks good. I can seriously see this becoming the premier flatpicking site pretty quickly. I had almost stopped checking in at the BHO, as I don't get much banjo time, but guitar is my main instrument. Only problem is, now I have ANOTHER site to waste my time on!

I think this site soon will be the main site for flatpicking guitar.
A year ago I more or less quit playing mandolin and concentrated on banjo because Banjo Hangout was much more inspiring than Mandolin Café. It is something by the way Eric has managed to create a community, not only a discussion forum.
The big problem now is to use my spare time for actually playing music and not be stuck in front of the computer screen.

Good to see this site.
While I'm not strictly a flatpicker, I'm glad to see a guitar hangout. I never could handle picks. I even pick banjo bare fingered. I'm too much of a klutz to manage anything so complex as a pick!
I tend to tangle 'em up in the strings and then I've got to fish 'em out through the sound hole.
I have an Ovation I play, but it's a struggle because the strings are so close together. I've got a Goya like the one Willie Nelson has with the hole worn in it. I rebuilt that one after I bought it on eBay for $29. I love that one.
I like the sound of a big dreadnought, but have been really frustrated with stumbling over the narrower neck.
So......
I took the extra strings off my 12 string and "Voila!" I have a big steel-string sound, but the strings are spaced like a classical guitar. It made playing steel strings much more fun!
I look forward to visiting this site regularly.
I''m just sayin''
