So my friend is planning join a group of doctors who have an online clinic. How does this work? Do people even get help from online clinics?

I presume you can type in questions about your ailments/health problems and they will give you a list of things that might be wrong and what might be done to alleviate the condition.  I would definitely take anything learned online with a large grain of salt.

Some online medical websites, Mayo Clinic for instance, can be very informative. When seeking medical advice, the problem is wading through all the commercial advertisements.

Something like this one. But they're going to be using teleconferencing so their patients can join the meeting, or rather the consultation instead of just posting their symptoms online. But what about taking the bp and stuff like that. :/

The anti-vax movement arose out of folks taking advice from "Dr. Internet" or "Dr. Google".  For minor ailments like a sore throat or a hangnail, you might get some good advice, but I wouldn't be making any major medical decisions based on stuff on the internet.
