Hi, how's everyone? Techies around please. I'm actually thinking that i need to maximize my internet speed performance. I'm just wondering, how would I start with it? Do you think that access point is related with internet speed? How does it works and which is best suitable? I want something that is cost effective. Anyone here who's familiar about these things? Thanks in advance guys!

New here. Great to find this topic! What a coincidence, that I am also searching about my internet speed a while ago. Sorry, that I'm not well versed about it. Anyway, I already checked it online and have read about access points. I just found out that a program is recommended to measure signal strength and to know the the active wireless channels. It could help determine our router is performing very well. I only do not know how and if it is cost effective. Maybe , I'll do more readings later and get back to you soon.

I've been looking since you posted this. What is that program you're saying? Is it something like this network operating system? This is the only one I found. :/

Internet speed for the most part is controlled by the access line by your internet provider. There are speed tests that can be gotten from your provider (I use Brighthouse). There are also speed tests by doing an internet search of "internet speed test". Most are free, but make sure that they are not putting garbage in your computer such as malware or unwanted programs. Be careful. As to the computer itself, very little can be done except to make sure it's virus free and you are not running gobs of not needed programs at start up. Going to your startup configuration should give you some answers on that one.
