This hangout is dedicated to flatpickers to judge from its name. However there seems to be some finger style interest among the members. The group Finger style guitar is the third largest group (only the Flatpicker's and Bluegrass groups are bigger) so there seems to be a need for some finger style forum. So why not just create a new forum "Finger style guitar" in the Playing Advice section, where we can discuss the finger style .

I would not object to the forum, but I doubt that it would get much traffic. There just isn't much fingerstyle discussion that goes on here, and I don't think the lack of a specific forum is the reason why. I think it's because the overwhelming majority of the members come here for the flatpicking content. Which makes sense, when you think about it.

Janalov, you mention the fingerstyle group. It has a group blog which you could adapt as a de facto fingerstyle forum. Someone could post a question about fingerstyle playing to that blog, and other members could post replies. Just a suggestion.

Except, slowhand, that there are probably many like me who don't (and won't) use the "group" function on any of the HOs. I feel if it is worth posting about, it is worth posting about in the public forums.

I wouldn't be adverse to a fingerstyle forum, having played classical and folk fingerstyle since the 1960s.
