Just a question out of curiosity: Who currently has the Martin guitar that was once played by Clarence White and more recently by Tony Rice? After it’s journey with those 2 incredible pickers, it would be great to know what the guitar’s current or next steps might be.
Those are questions I don't ask, and I don't know the answer, but I am sure it is in good hands.

I just asked because a bunch of years ago someone asked who had the guitar that had been Clarence White’s. I passed on the news that the guitar had become the iconic instrument played so well by Tony Rice. One interesting result of that was a FB friend request from Roland White less than 10 minutes later.

Thank you so much for posting the link to this article. It doesn’t, of course, answer my original question, but adds so much to the background story of the guitar — and its players and the luthiers that have given it such a fruitful life.
