Does anybody know of a source for .090" thicj tortoise binding beside Stew-Mac? They want $32.00 upcharge for shipping haz-mat. That's crazy. If I lived anywhere close, I'd go pick it up.
I have some .060". I'm restoring my brother's 1970's J-50 deluxe. I may use cream Gibson binding, but I'd prefer to use tortoise like the original. I guess I could put a band of black .030 behind it.
Check out Luthiers Mercantile International ...... R/
Sheesh ..... my response was too early in the AM for my brain to kick in apparently ..... .60is not .90 Apologies. R/
Stew-Mac is the ONLY supplier who I have found. Not even Rothko & Frost has it. But, I am not gonna pay $32 upcharge to ship two pieces of binding that cost less than $10.00
