A Proud Papa

Friday, March 6, 2015

Maggie and I went to see our son, Darcy's band Flash Lightnin' opening for Zed Zed Top  Wednesday niht in Peterborough, Ontario.  They did a tour with Billy, Dusty and Frank last year and they played three shows with them this March.  It must be quite a thrill to play in front of thousands of people in a hockey arena.

I enjoy playing jug band music, blues, bluegrass, western swing, old timey tunes, Irish fiddle tunes, alternative country... I started playing guitar circa 1960 during the great folk scare and have picked up mandolin, banjo, dulcimer, Autoharp, mouth harp, ukulele, and several other instruments. If I had stuck to guitar, I'd be very good by now, but as it is I'm a jack of all trades...
