1979 Guild S-300 AD

I've had this guitar since 1979 and I'm ashamed to say I never learned to play it, so it has been stored in a hardcase for over 30 years. My brother in law played and I gave it to him a few years ago, but he played acoustic guitars and I don't think he played mine for more than a few hours. He did tell me the guitar is in perfect condition, it isn't warped. There isn't a scratch on it.

He passed away two years ago and I got the guitar back. I'm moving and I'm thinking about selling it. I have no idea what it is worth. I was hoping someone here could advise me about how to sell it. Obviously, I want to get as much as I can for it. I live in NJ, not far from NYC, but I know any retail shop will offer me about 40% of the retail price.

Any advice would be appreciated.

This is a Spectacular fingerstyle and strong flatpicking instrument. Very fast attack and rich,rich low end.. glassy highs. Excellent condition, flawless top - some bear claw - flawless african mahogany back.. For your consideration.. I have a 1997 Lowden O12C Jumbo Cutaway Sitka / Mahogany w/ Rosewood Binding & Brazilian saddle, and Ebony fingerboard. It is fitted with a Highlander UST and Mic. combo and lives in a Hiscox lite-flight case. It is a superb fingerstyle guitar, 1 3/4" bone nut, slimmish C-profile neck.. a GREAT neck. Excellent separation and rich overtone. It's all about detail and complexity with this instrument.

I am a member over on the banjo hangout and thought this might be the place to go. I am trying to get a read on a good place to post an acoustic/electric Washburn EA-2000 for sale. I would post to the classifieds here, but did not know how interested a group of flatpickers would be in the guitar. Hi, I like bluegrass , but I like more guitars with oldtimey sound to them. I read that in general, Martins have bluegrass sound, while Gibsons have oldtime sound to them. Any help?. Thanks.

Revival RG-12. Near-mint condition. Spruce/Rosewood. The guitar has been set up. It plays great, sounds great. I can't get across just how GOOD this thing sounds… imo, it actually sounds better than alot of solid-top guitars I tried. That's why I bought it… great tone & playability, I didn't care that is was an all-laminate. They sell for $279 usually. I'm looking to get $175 shipped to the continental US.

This is a 2010 model, I only bought it a few months ago. It has abalone inlay ALL OVER IT (see pics). The fit & finish on it is really good… honestly, as good as any guitar I've seen. The poly finish is a bit thick, but that's normal with alot of the chinese-made acoustics.

Would make an excellent "Campfire"/"Travel"/"Student" guitar.

.I Need to raise some cash, so I'm parting with my Brazilian rosewood OM-28. Sold with TKL hard case, it's priced below the Brazilian rosewood upgrade cost of other builders. I built this guitar to 30's martin specs in all respects, with scalloped, forward shifted X brace, Ebony fingerboard and bridge, fossilized ivory nut and saddle, 1 3/4 nut, 2 5/16 string spacing, and all appropriate binding and perfling. I worked at Merrill and Company (widely known for their accurate Pre-war Martin replicas) for nearly 6 years, and built this guitar in that shop in 2007, but under my name. I am now building under the East Virginia Guitars (EVG) brand, recently reviewed in Flatpicking Guitar Magazine. Check out the classified ad on this site!

i've got an excellent condition Epiphone Masterbilt AJ-500rcsns.

yes, believe me, that is exactly what the label says.

it's got:

- solid rosewood sides and back

- solid cedar top

- 12 fret neck

- slotted headstock

- orginal sort of hardshell, soft foam case.

- a K&K Western (not the mini) professionally installed.

it's a bit too big for me to get my arm around it and keep my shoulder in the socket.

i would like to trade for a

good,

solid wood preferred,

parlor sized,

slotted headstock,

12 fret of almost any make / model.

i do need a 1.75" at nut, since i do mostly finger picking.

To the people who stole most of my stuff out of my studio on June 5, including my main guitar of 43 years, let me tell you about it. It's a very altered, but very real 1953 Gibson Les Paul Model - Serial # 3 0621 (stamped on the back of the headstock) This is not a gold-top. In the 1950's, it was refitted with an ABR-1 bridge and stop tailpiece, and then refinished, all by Gibson. The green colour in the picture, (especially on the rear half of the body where the light reflection is less), is accurate. It's one of the lightest Gibson Les Pauls, and the only one of its' colour, that I've ever seen. I've made many other changes to this guitar in favour of playability: --changed the P-90's to humbuckers --had the neck thinned and it, the back and the sides were refinished --when it was refinished, the serial # was stamped in --replaced worn out machine heads with gold Gibson ones --added brass switch ring, jack plate, and rear cavity covers that were made for me by my now-deceased brother-in-law --added a truss rod cover with "Les Paul" on it --installed strap-locks (for obvious reasons) --there will be traces of violin bow resin in and under various parts. It is the best guitar ever for bowing. This is a one-of-a-kind instrument in so many ways. It is completely recognizable, down to every screw on it. I've been in the music business all my life, and have a large list of friends and contacts. It's my most personal possession, and I have always planned for my son to have it one day. By the way, the other Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier head you took was his. It's not of much value to you, but to me, I can't buy another Les Paul like it because another one doesn't exist.. Here's a thought: Have some decency and redeem some karma. Bring my guitar back.
