This is a "Custom Artist Model" ...custom made for me... Mike Scott...by Gibson by builder Ren Ferguson at the Gibson-Boseman, MT Custom Shop. The previous nine Brazilian guitars were built in 1990 & 1991. This one, due to plant changes, was completed in early 1994 and was made a "One of A Kind" as a 1994 100th Anniversary Issue... #10 of 10. It has a Martin "Thinline" pickup under the saddle and input jack at the end strap pin. No damage or holes drilled.
For Sale: Bluegrass Guitar or Mandolin Jam Tunes Book 2 Studio Quality CD set - $39.95 USD

Bluegrass Guitar Jam Tunes and Bluegrass Mandolin Jam Tunes are an arrangement of 25 of the most common and most often played picking tunes, and is intended for the advanced beginner to the upper intermediate player. The spiral bound books are written in standard notation and tablature, and is accompanied by 2 CD's each, with 3 practice tracks per tune, totaling over 2 hours of practice material. Each CD track has a guitar, mandolin and bass rhythm section. The 1st track is slow, with the melody and rhythm, so you can learn the melody and practice your rhythm playing as well. The 2nd track is the same as the 1st, but with the melody removed. Now you have a slow, backup band to solo over, to play my version of the melody or make up one of your own. The 3rd track is faster and goes 3 times through the tune starting with a mandolin solo, then a guitar solo, and then rhythm only, so you have a place in the tune to play your solo, just like in a real jam session.

The slow versions are at 106 beats per minute, slow enough to learn, but not plodding. The faster version is fast enough to give you a good workout, but not up to performance speed. It is at 170 beats per minute. The tunes included in the books are:

Old Joe Clark, Arkansas Traveler, Turkey in the Straw, Redwing, Wildwood Flower, Blackberry Blossom, 8th of January, Bill Cheatham, Billy in the Low Ground, Cattle in the Cane, Fishers Hornpipe, Fire on the Mountain, Liberty, Lost Indian, Red Haired Boy, Sailors Hornpipe, Salt Creek, St. Anne's Reel, Stoney Point, Temperance Reel, Whiskey Before Breakfast, Little Maggie, Bury me Beneath the Willow, Banks of the Ohio, Will the Circle be Unbroken.

The Taylor DCSM is an interesting guitar. It is the first signature series guitar made by Taylor guitars and represents the result of collaborative efforts between Bob Taylor and Dan Crary. My 1994 guitar has a solid spruce top with Indian rosewood back and sides. The top braces are not scalloped, per Dan’s insistence since he wanted a guitar with fewer bass overtones that was easier to amplify in live performances. It has gold plated tuning machines, snowflake inlays Abalone rosette around soundhole. It has a very thin neck that feels and plays great.

1970 Martin D12-20 Slothead 12 string, 12 frets to the body. Missing pickguard, has famous Martin pickguard crack, one two inch crack in back. Three cracks from bridge downward towards bottom of guitar which may or may not be through finish into the top. (I suspect at least one is in wood). Bridge has no separation from top. I cannot begin to slide a piece of typing paper between the bridge and the top at any point along the bridge. Needs neck reset. Extremely little bellying in the top below the bridge. Top finished is crazed.

Let me know what you have and maybe we can make a deal. This banjo is in very nice condition. I'd say that the wood is mint and the metal parts could just use some buffing. It comes with a hardshell case, has a shubb 5th string tuner and moon bridge. The banjo is mahogany. Doug T.

Looking to sell my Martin KD16-GT Koa special Guitar. It has a Rosewood fingerboard, and has upper level appointments such as bridge inlays, fancy fingerboard inlays, and dot bridge pins....all as it came from Martin. My local Martin dealer said it was an Uncatalogued Special Edition. I have had it for a couple of years...it has less than 1 hour playing time on it, and is virtually Brand New. The sitka top has an "aged" finish to it and appears slightly darker than the standard Sitka top color. Comes with the factory Hard case, and an Oasis humidifier, and I'll throw in a brand new set of strings. Not looking to ship the guitar, would prefer a face to face inspection/transaction in the Warren, Ohio area.
THIS IS SOLD //

Hi.

I sadly need to part with my Avalon A32J, a gorgeous jazz/classical nylon string guitar.

The guitar was made in Ireland by former Lowden luthiers and is in excellent condition -- no nicks, scratches or dents. It's been treated extremely well and kept it in a humidity-controlled environment.

It has a Spruce top, Indian Rosewood sides and back, and ebony fingerboard. The nut width is 1 7/8", with a 650 mm scale and a cutaway.

Full specs at the Avalon site:

For Sale: 1944 Epiphone Zenith Acoustic Archtop Guitar, OHSC - $1,375 USD

Here is a really nice, clean 1944 Epiphone Zenith Archtop in very good condition with the OHSC. Here are all the details.

This is a 16” body archie which is a very comfortable body to hold and play due to its depth contours and shaped waist, compared to a dreadnaught. Unlike nearly all of the 16” Gibson archtops, it has the typical Epiphone full scale length of about 25.5”. The longer scale gives it different acoustical properties compared to the shorter string length guitars. As far as I can tell, its all original, lacking only the pickgard and endpin. The glitter heel cap shrunk a little, there has been a slight shrinkage of heel seam/finish; it is minimal and the neck is solid. The action is not high, its quite adjustable due to the floating bridge and truss rod. This appears to have a solid spruce top with walnut back and sides, likely the Epi walnut laminate, and a 3 piece neck which is also in really nice condition. There are no top or body cracks. The binding is in great shape. It has the headstock inlay and black tuner buttons which are not crumbling away. The finish has some of the expected typical finish crazing and checking but its not bad, they don’t show much, and its not flaking off; there are not too many scratches or dings either. The frets were just lightly dressed as they weren’t really on played much and it was set up too. The Brazilian fretboard is in fine condition, no finger pitting. The "Frequensator" tailpiece has the typical crack at the bend over the binding, but its only a 1/4" on the bass side, and it has much of its original plating intact. The original case is in quite good condition and doesn’t smell. The lid strap is still there but its not connected at the lower end. The case still even has its original leather handle, which is probably 80-85% there, and it has the original key too.

See more pix at http://s257.photobucket.com/albums/hh203/Brewsterr/ then select the right album.

Finally, and most importantly, there is this guitar’s voice. Yowza! Its loud and powerful with a cutting edge to it. This one has a crisp and hot sound that really jumps out. Its great for leads and, besides playing alone, its terrific for being in a crowd as you will be heard. I prefer the archtop sound due to a better balance across the strings and I think they sound better up the neck too compared to most flattops. Just $1,375 for this hot sounding, vintage wartime archtop in VG condition with the OHSC. 48 hr approval, must be returned in same condition. Buyer to cover all the S/I.

For Sale: JUST IN! Collings D1H G - MAPLE! - $4,700 USD

If you're looking for a Collings that can fill a room, look no further! This has to be one of the loudest acoustics I have ever heard! This D1 features a German Spruce top and Flame Maple back and sides. Simply AMAZING projection!
The square-shouldered 14-fret dreadnought is the most popular steel-string acoustic guitar body shape in the world. While Collings is certainly not the only company to build them, we bring a new tonal clarity to the depth and warmth usually associated with such a large, deep-bodied guitar. Although its bass response makes the dreadnought ideal for vocal accompaniment, Collings versions are also often employed by bluegrass flatpickers who must compete with inherently louder instruments such as banjos and fiddles. The wide range of woods and neck sizes offered allow dreadnought fans to find a Collings model ideally suited to their playing style and tonal preference.

Features Include:

    Fully adjustable truss rod
    German Spruce Top
    Flame Maple back & sides
    Tortoise-style binding
    Herringbone trim
    Simple walnut backstrip
    Pre-war scalloped bracing
    Black/white wood nitrate strip rosette
    Tortoise-style pickguard
    High gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finish
    Flame Maple Neck
    Ebony fingerboard and bridge
    Ebony peghead overlay
    Inlaid Collings Logo
    Inlaid dot fingerboard markers
    Fully adjustable truss rod
    Bone nut and drop-in saddle
Ebony bridge pins and end pin
    Nickel Waverly tuners

For Sale: JUST IN! Collings DS1H - Vintage Sunburst! - $4,365 USD

Visually Stunning - Sonically Stunning! We ordered this one in a vintage sunburst done only the way Collings can do it.
This is the original 12-fret dreadnought shape, first designed as an oversized Hawaiian guitar almost a century ago. Collings retained the shape and wide neck with slotted headstock from that bygone era, but our DS models are thoroughly modern guitars with a unique sound all their own. The longer body, with the bridge closer to the center of the lower bout, delivers an open, airy tone with smoothness and warmth not typically found in modern, 14-fret dreadnoughts. Whether flatpicked or played fingerstyle, these guitars have lots of headroom and the wide dynamic range invites everything from mellow accompaniment to biting leads.

Features Include:

Select Sitka spruce
Mahogany back & sides
Tortoise-style binding
Herringbone trim
Simple walnut backstrip
Pre-war scalloped bracing
1 13/16 Nut width
Black/white wood nitrate strip rosette
Tortoise-style pickguard
High gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finish
Mahogany Neck
Ebony fingerboard and belly bridge
Slotted peghead with ebony overlay
Inlaid Collings Logo
Inlaid dot fingerboard markers
Fully adjustable truss rod
Bone nut and drop-in saddle
Ebony bridge pins and end pin

For Sale or Trade: 2011 Custom Martin HD28V w/ Upgrades (Price lowered) - $2,400 USD

Up for sale or trade is a 2011 Martin HD28V. I purchased this guitar in May 2011 with hopes of learning to play but I really only have time to concentrate on my banjo playing. This is a beautiful guitar with virtually no playing time (there are no pick marks on the pick guard if that tells you anything) that has been case kept, properly humidified and upgraded with genuine Martin gold butterbean tuners and fossilized walrus bridge pins, end pin and strap pin (This equates to a $360.05 upgrade... yes, I have receipts). These pins are gorgeous with abalone dot inlays. I still have all the original pins and tuners that I would include with the trade. Comes with a very nice Martin Geib style case that came original with the guitar.

I'm looking to trade for a Gibson banjo in similar condition. Will consider other banjos (Huber Truetone, Deering, Stelling, Hatfield, Cox, etc.) if the offer is right. No parts banjos or clones.

'68 Martin D18, great flatpicking guitar, recent work by the best authorized Martin guy in the area includes neck reset, new bridge and bone saddle, maple bridge plate overlay, frets, minor crack repairs; this guitar has the small maple bridgeplate; not a boomer, very clear and bright, cuts a mike w/o the overtones; this guitar has been played a lot in its 44 years and has some pick rash near the pick guard and some finish issues on the back lower bout; but it shouldn’t need any work for a very long time. Comes with original HSC which is very nice inside and shows old sticker evidence on the outside, otherwise VGC. $1,900. IF THIS AD IS STILL UP I STILL HAVE THE GUITAR
