Sound

I flat pick a chord melody folk/country style and sometimes finger pick. I installed a simple Dean Markley transducer and soldered it to an endpin jack so that the transducer is permanently mounted. I then plug it in to a Fender Acoutisonic 30 amp. The sound is great. I play small venues; coffee houses, etc. and I need no more amplification than this. The sound is clear, full and bright. I played a few other much higher priced Taylors and the sound from the 110 was just as good. It is not as deep and muddy sounding as some Martins I have heard, but it should make a fine bluegrass guitar as well as country and folk. One thing I like is the arched back which makes internal bracing unnecessary. The result is a very light instrument.

Setup

The set up was great . It was fine right out of the box.

Appearance

It is a rather plain guitar. Nothing fancy. The wood is finished w/ a flat dull matte finish, yet is still very attractive.

Reliability

The tuning keys are chrome and very precise. It stays in tune. I feel it is very dependable and I currently use it on gigs without a back up.

Customer Service

I have not had to have any warranty work done on it. I have talked to a Taylor sales rep and he was very knowledgeable and friendly. I feel that if there every were a problem, it would be taken care of promptly.

Components

For a so called "entry level" guitar that looks and plays like a guitar costing twice as much, I see no reason to up grade.

Overall Comments

If this guitar was stolen, I just might get the same model, even if I could afford one of the more expensive Taylors. I highly recommend the 110. I love its light weight and full concert sound. Like I said, Martins seem "muddy" sounding in comparison. The sound is comparable to the upsacle Gibsons I have played.
