...that there are just TOO many bluegrass songs to learn them all!
And that I needed to bite the bullet, make up a bluegrass songbook for myself, or I was never going to have a solid BG repetoire.
I went to bluegrasslyrics.com, and copied the lyrics for every BG song I'm familar with, "connect" with, or halfway know already, and put them in a songbook. I used it at a bluegrass jam already (last monday), along with the new guitar, and it really helped.
Once I get all these songs down, I think I'll really have a solid foothold in Bluegrass that I can expand gradually.
I think I'm going to emphasize quality (in the sense of songs that I can sing well with feeling) rather than sheer quantity.
I probably ought to make up a fakebook for songs I DON'T like so well, but are popular, along with the chords, to give me a leg up on playing fiddle with them.
